Gates wins reader's choice award |

Gates Corporation?s Industrial Division belt product line has again been selected as the winner of a Reader?s Choice Award from Plant Services magazine.

According to a poll of the magazine?s subscribers - technicians, supervisors, engineers and plant managers - Gates is the top brand for drive belts. In the recent balloting, subscribers were asked to ?identify those suppliers you recognize as PSChoiceLogo05offering the best brands and products that you can rely on to give the best combination of performance, durability, low maintenance and reasonable cost.?
Gates was selected by 64 percent of the respondents as offering the highest value (as defined by lowest estimated life-cycle cost) in drive belts.
Two other belt suppliers ? Goodyear and Dayco ? were a distant second and third, with 15 percent and 7 percent recognition, respectively.
In the 2004 Plant Services Readers? Choice Awards survey, Gates also topped all other belt suppliers and received 63 percent of votes, compared to Goodyear?s 18 percent and Dayco?s 5 percent.
Plant Services is a monthly trade magazine read by more than 100,000 experienced plant professionals. The survey was sent to 40,000 qualified subscribers.
Rich Carvill, Gates Industrial Belt Marketing manager, says the survey demonstrates that Gates is the company that industrial customers rely on to meet their critical cost, reliability and performance requirements.
